Chittagong Medical College

Chittagong Medical College is an institution specializing in medical education located in Chittagong city. Directly managed by the government management, it was established in 1957; Which is one of the main medical education institutes in the country. Here is a 5-year MBBS course with an internship graduation level. Curriculum is in progress; So that 197 students are admitted every year.  Also here at the post-graduate level M.D. And ms Curriculum is on.

History:

In 1901, Chittagong Medical School was started in 1927 in the premises of Chittagong General Hospital, established at Andrakilla, Chittagong; In order to provide four-year LMF degrees. In 1957, Chittagong Medical College was established, which was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister Hussein Shaheed Suhrawardy and Health Minister Dhirendranath Dutta; And Dr. Altaf Uddin Ahmed was the first Principal of this organization. Until 1960, Chittagong General Hospital served as a Chittagong Medical College. In 1960 it was shifted to the current campus. Its journey began with only 26 teachers and 76 students. Then its division was three; Anatomy, physiology and biochemistry. In 1960 it was only the Department of Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 1969, when the work of the present building was completed, it was shifted to the present-day Satlal Bhaban in 1969. Dental unit and Bachelor of Dental Surgery were introduced in the 1990s. Today's bedroom 1010 Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computerized tomographic scan, DNA testing started in 2007.

Currently there is a 510-bed third level hospital attached to it.

Every year, about 200 students are admitted to MBBS course in this college. Along with some foreign students are also admitted.

Dental unit:

On January 5, 1990, the activity of dental unit started. This year 50 students are admitted every year.

Auditorium:

This organization has an auditorium named Shah Alam Bir Uttam Auditorium. This auditorium has been named after the title hero of Bir Uttam Shah Alam, the famous freedom fighter. It has a capacity of 1000 visitors. Like modern auditorium, it has air conditioning, washroom, lighting and sound system.
