Rangpur Medical College
Rangpur Medical College, a government medical college located in Rangpur district of Bangladesh It was established in the year 1970. It is 330 km from Dhaka and 210 km from Rajshahi. It is located in the Jail Road district jail of Rangpur city's Dhap area. The original campus and hospital area is about 7600 square meters.
History:
With the increasing requirements of modern medical treatment, then Governor of East Pakistan Government, General Monayem Khan laid the foundation stone of 500-bed Rangpur Medical College in East Pakistan in 1969.
In 1971, the first batch under Rajshahi University had 50 students, of which 175 people were killed. There are 10 seats reserved for India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and the Maldives for South Asian countries every year.
